Okunoshima is currently famous as Rabbit Island. However, there used to be a poison gas factory and it was called “The island erased from maps.”
The island is known to have approximately 600 rabbits, attracting a lot of visitors.
The island has some facilities such as Okunoshima Island Poison Gas Museum and Okunoshima Visitor Center.
